The Seymour Salmonid Society is a non-profit organization that is responsible for running the Seymour River Fish Hatchery and Education Centre. Our purpose is to enhance fish stocks and encourage proper management of fisheries in the Seymour River. We also aim to educate the public about the value of the Seymour River and the salmonids it supports as a resource for everyone living in British Columbia.

Coho and steelhead smolts are almost ready for release, the steelhead will be release on the 13th of May. The coho are due for release in June.
We are well into ponding our coho from spawning last fall. You can see these fry in the rearing shed - ask a staff member to show them to you.
We have finished spawning our adult summer run steelhead. We have started spawning our winter runs as well, these should be done by the end of this month.
